A Rising Tide Lifts All Boats

Where it all Began!!
When George left school, he stumbled across an apprenticeship offer in Boat Building. He was fortunate enough to land this opportunity with the renowed Lymington Scow and British Moth builder John Claridge. From Johns experience George learnt a great deal in carpentry, G.R.P, and generally growing his boatbuilding skills. George then put these skills forward and has built many scows, moths, lightning’s and prams.

Once completing his education, he continued working for John, however branched out and put his skills to working on the prestigous powerboat hendricks 55, preparing this for the Cowes to Torquay race. Thus giving him experience in not only building and refurbishing sailing dinghy’s but broadening his horizon to powerboats.
Over the years George has worked on many motor cruisers, dinghys, wooden clinker boats, yachts, superyachts, canoes, catamarans, and ribs carrying out repairs and refurbishments with many a satisfied customer.

However George didn’t just want to provide his services through another company, he wanted to put his own name out and provide his expertise to others to a high standard and at competitive pricing.
So at the start of 2018 Changing Tides Boat Maintenance was established, which subsequently re-branded to GES Marine in 2021.
We are a family orientated business offering boat builds for sale aswell as maintenance and repair services to our customers. We offer competitive pricing, but do not compromise on our quality of work.
